Cox Hall Creek
empties into the Delaware Bay through a pipe two miles north of the Cape
May Canal. According to the history ,
the creek is named for Dr. Daniel Coxe and a large house that was located
on its shore. From the canal to Cox Hall Creek there are a number of small
rock groins (sometimes referred to as jetties) protruding into the Bay.
About a quarter mile inland from the beach, Bay Drive (which turns into
Clubhouse Road) crosses the creek at the S-turn shown in
the picture on the left below. The picture in the center shows the creek
from the S-turn toward the Bay. The picture on the right shows the creek
from the S-turn away from the Bay.
